I did a 13 miles run this morning. All the ice from yesterday melted. The wind was very strong for the first half of the run. It took me two hours and fifteen minutes to finish the run. I was really tired. Luckily my friend hosted a Super Bow party and she made a lot of food. I was recovered by the evening.

It was quite a sunny day when I woke up this morning. It seemed to be a good day to run along the Charles River. But soon I found out it was a bad decision. Although the weather was nice, the road was covered with a think layer of ice. The road surface was very slippery and the wind was exceptionally strong. (I remembered it was raining last night followed by a sharp drop in temperature.) Carrying the flag was like carrying a sail. I could hardly control where I was going. Many times I was simply skating on the road.

I fell a couple of times whenever there was a strong gust of wind. On one part of the road, even the grass was covered with ice, I almost slide into the river. Finally, I cut my seven miles run to a four miles run to prevent unnecessary injury.
I got home late from work and the realized that the server was down because of an update error. I spent several hours on finding the error and fixing it. I didn't get to run until 10:00pm. It was raining. You can probably see from the picture. I only ran 2 miles. I am planning to set up a second server as back up. I am going to start my campaign on Monday. There are still a lot of things to do before that.Â
I also received donation from a co-worker today. She asked me not to mention her name. So I will keep it a secret. She has fought cancer and survived.

I ran 10 miles to work today and you can find my route here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=666906. I started from my friend Dan’s place. Here is a picture of me Shawn took before I my run. It was just an ordinary run. Sunny and nothing special. I did receive a donation from Barry. He saw me in his car, pulled over at the next parking lot and waited for me. I was very encouraged.
We first met Liyan back in 1995 when I (Sue) was working at Channel 1 and my son (Caz) was 10 years old. Liyan had recently moved to the US from China, was somewhat shy about his English, and was the best HTML hand coder working for us. Our pixel image is from that time, when Caz would come in to work with me, play computer games and surf the newly blossoming Web with us. In the summer of 1996, Caz had me shave half his head and dye the remaining side bright green. Liyan had a cross country road race and asked me to shave some crazy equation on his head having to do with Einstein's theory of relativity and time dilation and involving the Lorentz factor, or some such thing.
