MIT 2007 Indoor Alumni Track Meet

Running

I can't believe we are still getting this kind of weather in January. But then I guess it is Boston. It is 60 degrees and sunny outside. Feels like early summer. Great day for running. My friend, Dan Daniel Cronyn, ran 11 miles today. He will be sharing the burden of carrying the flag and run the Boston Marathon with me.

I brought the flag with me to the MIT 2007 Indoor Alumni Track Meet and showed the flag to 100 or more people this afternoon. I ran the 5000 meter race but didn't run with the the flag because of regulation and safety reasons. My time was not great (17:36) but it is a good start for the amount of training I had since two weeks ago. My goal is to run with the flag every day of the year and I don't want to get injured so quickly.

Short Run to the Supermarket

I did a three miles short run to Trader Joe's today. It was a little rainy but all were good. I am hoping to run a 5k race tomorrow so I didn't want to get too tired.

Running

Running to work. (10 miles)

I ran to work with the flag today. It's was a 10 mile run from Cambridge to Needham. It' was quite warm giving that it is Jan. The run took me one hour and 35 minutes.  I improved my time by 10 minutes comparing to last time I ran to work with the flag. I have been testing different phrases that I can put on the flag. I want people stop me and have a chat so I can explain more about the significance of the flag.  So far what I have is, “Raising money for cancer. One dollar at a time. Together we will make difference.” Do you have any thoughts? Feel free to leave a comment.

Here is the picture I took for myself.

Destination Harvard Square.

Today's destination was Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The weather was again great. I handed out more cards for the website. I plan to make a bigger sign to pin on the flag sometime tonight.

Four miles run to Boston

I ran four miles with the Flag to Boston . The weather was great for running. One the way back I met John Rogaris and his friend, whose name I failed to get. They donated $150 on the spot. I was not expecting that and I was really surprised and didn't know what to do. I should have taken a picture. Just want to say thanks. John's business card is from Roggie's Brew and Grille. There is no title on the card. Here is his website: www.roggies.com. I am sure he does not mind if you pay a visit. Here are some pictures from today.
