When I think of this day, it will always bring me back memories. It is the most difficult day ever running with the flag.
The race started at 5:00 am in the morning but it is more like 10am in Boston. My friend Aaron and I arrived the day before and haven’t really adjusted to the jet lag. I am still recovering from my sickness from China. I had a running nose and coughing like there was no tomorrow. In fact my sickness seemed to get worse. We didn’t have a good night sleep at all and had low energy for the entire time.
I went out for a test run and was seriously considering not running. However, deep inside, I know I would regretted it if I did not even give a try. So I got up and went to the race.
Two minutes into the race the heavy rain turned into non stop down pouring for at least 2 miles. I was completely drenched and, worse, the flag was completely wet. It was so heavy. Feels like I am carrying a 30 lbs of weight instead of 5 lbs. I was so tired at mile 13. It was the longest race ever. I end up finishing right under 5 hours, not too bad.
